CMS just announced the 2019 ACO application deadlines for new and renewing ACOs. The dates are extremely aggressive:
- Notice of Intent to Apply (NOIA) is due on Friday, January 18th at 12:00 p.m. EST
- Applications are due on or before February 19, 2019
For 2019, CMS is only offering a July 1, 2019 off cycle start date and then the program will return to a January cycle. The July 1, 2019 start date is an 18-month program year which will provide new and renewing ACOs who qualify for the BASIC track an additional six months in the upside only (no downside risk) time period. If you are an existing ACO who’s agreement runs until 12/31/19 or later, you can complete your existing MSSP ACO agreement.
We recognize that this is an extremely aggressive timeframe. If you are considering participating in 2019, we encourage you to file a non-binding NOIA before next Friday, January 18th to save a spot to participate in 2019.
For more information on how to submit a NOIA, click here for the application and to see the programs and options available to you.
For information about the application, you can find additional details here on the CMS website.
