The concept was born in 2013 at around 35,000 feet somewhere over the dark Texas terrain. Father and son team, John & Garrett Schmitt, were returning on a flight from Phoenix, AZ where they had exhibited at a conference with the intention of connecting with accountable care organizations to promote consulting services. Being a small firm, their budget was limited and the ROI of their investment of both time and money in this particular show was questionable at best. But exposure was important, and they were frustrated by the lack of alternatives to reach the value based market. They concluded that there simply had to be a better way in this digital age to reach ACO executives without the tremendous expense of attending extravagant conferences. Their vision became a reality with a little side-project called ACOExhibitHall.com. Fast forward to today and ACOExhibitHall.com (ACOEH) has become an invaluable nationwide resource & educational hub for ACOs, IPAs, etc. seeking information and vendor solutions, as well as a cost effective avenue for organizations to promote their products and services to the ACO community. In 2016, Matt BonDurant came on board to help in the development of the latest version of ACOEH released in February 2018. His insight and vision has been an invaluable asset to the team.

John P. Schmitt Ph.D.

John P. Schmitt has over 30 years experience in healthcare consulting, academics and corporation management and has extensive experience working with managed care organizations and large integrated health providers. In 2011, Dr. Schmitt founded Reliance Consulting Group (RCG), which specializes in commercial payer contracting services for accountable care organizations and then went on to co-found ACOExhbitHall.com with his son, Garrett Schmitt. Dr. Schmitt is still actively involved with RCG and continues to work with ACO clients.

Matt BonDurant
Chief Information Officer
Matt BonDurant joined the company in 2015 and has played an integral role in the design and functionality of the site. The majority of his 20 year career was spent managing day to day operations, technology solutions and strategic improvements for independent, integrated, and hybrid model physician based practices. These experiences lead to the realization that healthcare business technology tools were far behind what is needed to effectively improve the business processes that enable quality care delivery. The last 5 years have been dedicated to the development of innovative web-based solutions, rule engines, and social networking solutions that can fix healthcare once and for all.

J. Garrett Schmitt, MBA
Founder & Managing Editor
J. Garrett Schmitt is a founding member of ACO Exhibit Hall and has over 14 years experience in account management and business development. Garrett is in charge of vendor relations as well as procuring, editing and promoting the educational material on the site. He holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of Georgia, and has experience working with a variety of medical groups and ACOs to maximize reimbursement opportunities by developing marketing strategies and promoting their organizations to commercial payers. He has also participated in managed care contract negotiations, PCMH implementation, and consulting.
